All Dressed Up With No Place To Go

NEXUS mainstay, Matthew Ryan Sharp, is having a Solo Show this Saturday, at the OhNo!Doom gallery in Chicago. This is his only Chicago solo show to date, and could end up being his only one.
Spanky has a write up for it, here. Check out the facebook page, and RSVP. We'd love to see you there! Free popcorn and cotton candy while supplies last!

News out of the Deadweight camp, the launch game, titled gShift, is pushing along in the art department, and our demo will be ready in less then one week! The Deadweight website should be ready for public viewing by this coming Tuesday, so stay tuned!

Site and other news

We have unfortunately not had very much motion on many NEXUS projects, but that will be changing soon, so stay tuned.

In other news, our friends at Deadweight Studios are poised to release their first game this May, through Steam, so be ready for that.

Also, the NEXUS Design project is moving along, with the Oparc Computers site in version 2.1, and the UMW, Inc. website in the works. Our partnership with Oparc is sure to grow the NEXUS Design portfolio quick. The Design site will be up also, with the Deadweight redesign also being handled by us. Once all those front-runner projects are completed, the Design site will be developed further.

As far as the main site goes, we are re-examining our priority list, and therefore have taken down most of the aspects of the site for the time being. The projects are still being worked on, however slowly, but there will be a more purposeful site coming after all the projects mentioned above have fully been completed.

Stay tuned for updates.

Once again, forward motion

I hit a little snag there in the productivity department, what we creative types call a "slump." Everything that was being worked on came to an abrupt and screeching halt, including the site. I am however back in forward momentum, and am working daily on improving the pages. I started with the more simple NEXUS LDR blog, the SinSeer - Ice Cold Twentys, and did some work on this blog. I am putting my best foot forward on this site, and it is the focus of all my energies next week. It was on the plate this week, but I had to postpone everything due to computer malfunctions.

On another note, I am working on another sub-feature to the site, NEXUS Design. I have been doing web design and logo design for many years, since my high school days, and have finally decided to go live with an official design site. I will be designing that next week alongside the updates to this site.

Moving On

And thus, like lightning, the design came to me. The Children of Gaea logo and page graphics are in full development. The update to the page should be up by next Tuesday.

Also, a few years ago, Robert presented a video game concept of NEXUS proportions, and last night, a fundamental piece of the game mechanic came to me. The particular game is still on the Deadweight long list, but I believe the concept that came to me last night is something that will be crucial in the gaming experience for the user.

I credit all the shiny light bulbs of last night to my personal muse, my girlfriend Steffanie.

Be excited for more material coming soon.

The Novel.

As "The Great War" is very top secret and hush hush, I put only a brief description of it on the page. The Projects page is a bit more visually pleasing. I am using stock images right now, acquired from stock.xchng, for the basic layouts, until all the graphics are done. Logos I am still working on, and after those are done, I will be able to move forward with each section's visuals. Tomorrow, I will be adding the final content for our projects, and after that, all updates should be visual.

In other news, Matthew Sharp, a neXus affiliate, has a show in Chicago, so if you are interested in some really amazing indy art, check out the OhNo!Doom Gallery, and maybe even pick up a piece or two. Always support indy and local art.

Forward motion!

I just love that term...It basically means that you were not where you were before the play started. Now that might be a foot, or thirty yards...it's still the same term. When it's more then 10 yards, they just simplify it by calling it a first down, of course, but don't bug me with the details. HA!.

So along those lines, there has been forward motion. The Contact page is finished, for the time being, NEXUS staff emails have been established and a link is available for logging in at the bottom right of this page. I am working on other pages, as well, and very shortly the Cause and Effect Community Project page will be done, explaining the concept.

The Great War has found a writer, and the novel trilogy shall begin construction shortly. The series is planned for three books, with accompanying artwork to follow.

I also have started a personal blog, which can be reached off the People page on the site.

Stay frosty.
